Arriving very early
in the morning. |
Dave White ready to
go early in the morning. |
Following Laura and
Hawley out of town. |
Coming down Covell
Road I come up to a large group. |
With a little extra
effort I was able to catch up and tuck in behind them. |
For this is the view
I had for about 20 miles, tucked in with this peloton. |
Arriving at the Rest
Stop #1 the Elmira Elementary School - 24 miles. |
Following the
climber up the hill. |
Eventually we'll be
climbing the hills up ahead. |
Rest Stop #2 - Water
Stop along Cherry Glen Road - 42 miles. |
Not much of a stop
but a good excuse to take a 5 minute break. |
Then it's back on
the road parallel to I-80 towards Fairfield. |
Coming through
Wooden Valley... |
...we get to go up and down on these short hills. |
Rest Stop #4 held
lunch for us at the Wooden Valley School - 61 miles. |
Fresh water was
trucked in and so was the music. |
Looking over towards
the hills that we would be climbing after lunch. |
The hills became
longer and steeper. |
The groups have
gotten smaller... |
...with each hill I
climb. |
One more hill to
climb. |
Rest Stop #4... |
...was at Lake
Solano. |
Plenty of volunteers
to help out. |
Through the orchards
of Winters. |
Sticking to the
Orchards was so much easier than straight into the wind. |
Across the Putah
Creek via the highly decorated bridge. |
Back into Davis and
towards the finish line. I can taste the after ride meal now. |
