Foothill Century 2005 When: March 5, 2005 What: A bike ride from Downtown Merced to Lake Turlock then over to Snelling and back to Merced. Three routes: 30 miles, 60 miles, & 100 miles. The 60 mile route had 1,400 feet of climbing. Duration: 1 Day What: Cycling Cost: $30 registration for ride Size of Group: over 800 riders Good: Beautiful weather, despite it being it being wet and cold all week. Awesome meal after the ride. Bad: Just a tad bit of fog when we started off but that burned off by rest stop #1. We had to drive 2 hours to get there. What would you change: Don't go down the 5 miles of bad road.
